Man who robbed local credit union wanted elsewhere

Shreveport police are working with a number of other law enforcement agencies to catch a man who has robbed at least six banks since June 13.

George Stephen Cuthbertson, 52, of Brinkley, Arkansas, is wanted for a robbery there. It is believed he is the same individual who robbed the Carter Federal Credit Union, located inside the Kroger store on Youree Drive, on June 20.

A man fitting the description of Cuthbertson has been linked to robberies in Monroe and Metairie, La., as well as other robberies of financial institutions in Arkansas and Alabama.

The investigation continues. Anyone who has information on these cases should call Detective Mike McConnell at 673-6955.
