Woman shot on Corbitt

Shortly before midnight last night the Shreveport police responded to the 2800 block of Corbitt last night in reference to a shooting.  When officers arrived on scene they found one woman shot and her estranged husband dead.

The victim LaDonna Woods, a black female dob 1-12-66, fled to her neighbors residence to call police after her estranged husband had broken into her apartment. 

The initial investigation revealed that LaDonnas estranged husband, Roland B. Woods, black male, DOB 7-10-62, had broken into her house while she was sleeping.  When LaDonna confronted Roland in the hallway of her house Roland shot her once in each leg. 

After the LaDonna fled to the neighbors, Roland appears to have committed suicide.  Police are awaiting results of an autopsy.
