Checkpoint set for tomorrow

Shreveport Police Department's Traffic Bureau will conduct another seat belt and insurance checkpoint tomorrow afternoon.

This checkpoint will take place in West Shreveport and involve officers checking motorists for seat belts, insurance and other traffic-related violations.

This checkpoint is exactly one week from the last checkpoint, which took place on Wyngate. During that checkpoint, 427 vehicles were checked and 154 citations were issued. These statistics included 17 tickets for no seatbelt, 12 for no child restrain, 43 for no insurance, 16 for no driver's license and 12 impounded vehicles.
