FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Major accident on Tate and Broadway
Shreveport crash investigators are looking into a two-car crash on Broadway at Tate Street.
The accident occurred at 7:38 a.m. involving a 2004 Ford F-150 truck and a 1982 Olds Cutlass Supreme.
According to witnesses, the driver of the Cutlass -- 24-year-old Treston White of Shreveport -- failed to stop at a stop sign at Tate and Broadway, getting t-boned by the truck which had the right-of-way. The truck's driver, 48-year-old Calvin Beales of Shreveport, flipped on its side and traveled south down Broadway in the northbound lanes and came to a stop. Beales was taken to Willis-Knighton North with non life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, White was ejected from his car following the impact and received head trauma after hitting his head on the curb. He was taken to LSU Hospital where he is critical condition.
The investigation continues. No charges have been filed at this time.
