FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Police respond to possible kidnapping

Shreveport police responded to a call of a reported kidnapping/possible hostage situation in the 400 block of West 82nd Street about 10 p.m. Monday night.

The incident began after witnesses reported that  53-year-old Cedric Fuller (aka Malik Mohammad Ali and Cedrick Fuller) may have taken the 33-year-old woman against her will after she went to the home to get some money. The couple is separated and a divorce is pending.

At about the same time, police were told that a man fired a weapon and was seen running toward the home.

Members of the Special Response Team were called out, and after attempts to contact the residents inside the home, entry was made at about 4 a.m. No one was found.

More than two hours later -- about 6:30 a.m. -- Fuller reportedly dropped off the woman at her mother's home. She was not injured.

However, police are still investigating. Fuller is believed to be driving a 2001 white Ford Crown Victoria, license plate POC 879.

Information can be left with crimestoppers at 673-7373 or by logging onto the crimestoppers website at www.crimestoppersshreveportcaddo.com.
