Pedestrian hit by car

The Shreveport Police Department are investigating an accident involving a Pedestrian and a car which happened Sunday evening.

Last night shortly before 11:00 pm, the driver of a dodge stratus Ashantis Mitchell was traveling southbound in the 4100 block of Hearne Avenue when she observed a pedestrian, Rodregus Maxie attempting to cross the street. According to Mitchell, she at first thought Maxie was going to stop for on coming traffic, but when she realized he wasn't she hit the brakes, causing her car to slide into Maxie.

Maxie was transported to LSUHSC in serious condition. Maxie remains at LSUHSC in serious condition at this time. Mitchell was transported to the DWI Task Force for testing.

No charges have been filed at this time and the accident is still under investigation.
