Scrap metal arrest

Thursday morning detectives in the Pawn Shop Unit arrested an employee of a local oil field business for stealing equipment and selling as scrap metal.

Clyde Simpson, DOB 09-05-1969, was arrested on one count of Felony theft after the business realized they were missing some "Well Heads". An internal audit was done and showed more than 100 of these items were missing from T3 Energy.

After a police report was made, detectives started contacting local scrap yards, by utilizing Leads On-Line Scrap Yard Database and discovered that Mr. Simpson had been taking these items to a local scrap yards since April 2007.

The value of the stolen equipment is about $76,000.00. Detectives were also able to some of the missing Well Heads.
