Police search for female robber in burka

Shreveport Police Department is looking for information on a woman wearing a burka who robbed a loan business on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

The woman, who is not believed to be a true Muslim or from the Middle East, entered Tower Loans in the 6300 block of Hearne Avenue. She reportedly walked into the business about 6:45 p.m. and demanded money from the employees at gunpoint. She was dressed in a black traditional Muslim headdress and long robes with a veil over most of her face. The lower part of the veil had a red stripe across the front.

It was ascertained that the woman was actually Caucasian because of her greenish-blue eye color and no accent. She seemed to be in her 30s and was about 5'7" tall and around 130 pounds.

She was wearing all black. Photos attached to this email show the type of headdress she wore and a depiction of the burka she was wearing. However, the burka pictured is blue, while the one she was wearing was all black with a red stripe along the bottom part of the face covering.

It is unknown whether she wore this disguise because it was Sept. 11.
