One car wreck on I-20

Shortly after 2:00 am the Police Department responded to a one car accident on I-20 westbound just east of the greenwood exit.

Witnessed stated a car was westbound when the driver overcorrected and hit the guard rail on the right hand side, sending the car careening into the guard rail on the left hand side flipping the car onto its roof and catching the engine compartment on fire.

The fire department responded and extinguished the fire.  The driver was able to get out of the vehicle with the help of some passerbys.

The driver has not been cited at this time and she sustained no injuries during the wreck.

Traffic was reduced to the outer two lanes for about 45 minutes.
