Kokopelli’s arrest

Shreveport police arrested a 24-year-old Shreveport man on a charge of second-degree battery for a beating that occurred at the Kokopelis nightclub early Saturday.

Stacey Linnear was booked this afternoon for the beating charge, as well as on a warrant for domestic abuse battery involving an unrelated fight that occurred earlier.

Jon Fuggins, 20, of Shreveport was found unconscious and bleeding about 2:50 a.m. after the incident occurred on the dance floor. The fight reportedly started because Linnear didn't like the way the victim was looking at him. The victim may have bumped into Linnear or pushed him, which prompted the battery, according to investigators.

Fuggins was taken to the sidewalk by club security after he was found on the dance floor. Paramedics took Fuggins to LSU Hospital, where he is currently in intensive care with a broken jaw. The victim was found to have alcohol, amphetamines, ecstacy and marijuana in his system.

The nightclub has been cited for allowing an underage patron at the club.
