Man arrested for Oct. 1 shooting

Shreveport police have arrested a 21-year-old Shreveport man on a charge of attempted second-degree murder and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm for a shooting that occurred Oct. 1.

James Phillips was arrested at the police station yesterday for the shooting of Sharon Dotie, 43, of Shreveport. Dotie was shot in the chest as she sat in a car in the 1900 block of Centenary around 12:40 p.m. The incident occurred during an argument between Dotie, Dotie's friend and the suspect.

Dotie was taken to LSU Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
