Man arrested for battery

One man is in jail and another is in the hospital this evening after a fight on Egan.

Patrol officers were called to the 400 block of Egan shortly after 10:30 PM this evening in reference to a fight between two men.  When officers got to 459 Egan they found Kevin Necaise a white male DOB 4-21-66, beaten and bloody. 

Witnesses described the man who attack Necaise as a black male who lived near by.  When officers confronted Londell Williams, DOB 1-5-55, he fled on foot.  After a short foot chase he was arrested near his home in the 400 block of Egan.

Necaise was transported to LSU-HSC as a precaution after he lost consciousness at the scene.  He is listed in good condition.

Williams was arrested and charged with 2nd degree battery and resisting an officer.
