Quincy Carter arrested

Shreveport police arrested quarterback Lavonya "Quincey" Carter, 29 (he'll have his 30th birthday tomorrow), of Shreveport for possession of marijuana at the intersection of Youree and Leland.

Carter was booked into the Shreveport City Jail about 4 a.m. today. He has since been transferred to the Caddo Correctional Center.

The incident began about 1:20 a.m. after an officer stopped a silver car that was reported to have been involved in selling drugs at the Circle K convenience store at Youree and Southfield.

While stopped, an officer smelled alcohol on Carter and transported him to the DWI Unit for testing. Carter was found not to be driving drunk. However, he  did have about three grams of marijuana in his pants pocket.

Carter was charged with second offense possession of marijuana, a felony.
