Man arrested for overnight shooting

Shreveport police arrested a 23-year-old Shreveport man on a charge of attempted second-degree murder after he shot a 36-year-old man in the torso.

The incident happened at 12:50 a.m. today in the 5900 block of Attaway. When police responded, they found Andre Palmer of Shreveport suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to LSU Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Raymond Wright Jr., who lives in the house where the shooting occurred, was still on the scene and surrendered to officers. After questioning he was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.

Police impounded Palmer's car, which was parked illegally and had narcotics in plain view
