Police chase arrests

Two people are in jail this morning after leading Shreveport Police and Caddo Sheriff's deputies on a high speed chase.

The chase started on I-20 westbound near mile marker 6 shortly after 9:30 PM last night when a Caddo deputy attempted to pull over a Chrysler Seabring driven by Libert Roland, a black male DOB 4-26-1967 for a traffic violation. That was when Roland began to flee the Deputy at a high rate of speed.

Roland got off of I-20 at pines road and proceeded south on Pines road. Roland then turned east onto 70th street before heading back northbound on Hearne where he finally gave up in the parking lot of Super 1 One foods at Hearne and Waggoner.

During the chase Roland's passenger, Krystal Egan a black female DOB 3-23-1985, threw a large amount of narcotics of out the window. Officers were able to recover nearly 28 grams of cocaine a marijuana cigar and several ecstasy pills.

Both were transported to the city jail. Roland faces charges of:

Possession of Schedule I controlled dangerous substance - ecstacy (sp)

Possession of marijuana 3rd offense

Possession of Schedule II narcotics with intent to distribute for the cocaine.

Possession of Schedule I controlled dangerous substance - ecstacy (sp)

Possession of marijuana 3rd offense

Possession of Schedule II narcotics with intent to distribute for the cocaine.
