Three shooting overnight

First Shooting

Shortly before 8:45 PM last night Shreveport Patrol officers responded to the 3100 block of Frederick St in reference to a shooting.

Upon their arrival, officer located two victims outside of a vehicle. Victim #1 a nine year old black male received a gunshot wound to the head. Victim #2 , Nicholas Johnson black male DOB 9-17-1984, received numerous gunshot wounds to his arms and back.

Both were transported to LSUMC. Victim #1 (whose name has not been released at this time) was pronounced deceased at less than an hour after the shooting.

Johnson is in stable condition, and is still in the hospital. There were no immediate witnesses at the scene. The Investigation will continue.

Second Shooting

Shortly before midnight last night Shreveport Patrol Officers responded to the Canaan Village Apartments in reference to two black males being shot.

Upon arrival they found both in the breeze way of building B. Brandon Robertson, Black Male DOB 10-23-1978, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Shelton Banks was transported to LSU by SFD with a gunshot wound the arm and leg.

Kenneth Palmer, Black Male DOB 4-13-1979, was taken into custody by Patrol Officers at the scene and was transported to the station for an interview.

Kenneth Palmer was found to have two outstanding Caddo Warrants, he was booked into the jail on the warrants and for one count of First Degree Murder, and one count of Attempted First Degree Murder.

Representatives from the coroner’s office responded to the scene and took custody of Brandon Robertson. Next of kin have been notified of the death and the charges pursued against Palmer.

The investigation as to why Palmer shot banks and Robertson continues at this time.

Third Shooting

Shortly after midnight Patrol officers responded to the 2900 block of Penick in reference to two males who had been shot.

A Yellow Checker Cab advised they went to the Cajun Inn Hotel and picked up Luther Mcduffy, a black male DOB 5-3-73, along with two black females and they requested to be driven to a vacant house directly across from 2921 Penick.

The cab driver stated Mcduffy and one of the black females got out of the cab and walked up to the vacant residence where several subjects were standing around.

That's when the cab driver said he heard gunfire and saw muzzle flashes. The cab driver thought two subjects were shooting. The crowd near the vacant house quickly scattered, leaving Mcduffy and Randy Bennett, Black Male DOB 8-2-1974, shot in the yard. Both were transported to LSUMC by SFD with multiple gunshot wounds.

Mcduffy advised investigators that he went to this location with the two black females but did not give a reason why.

Upon approaching the house he stated that the subject he shot, Bennett, attempted to rob him and they exchanged gunfire. Two different caliber shell casings were recovered at the scene along with cash.

Bennett told investigators he was walking down the street when some guys started shooting and he got shot.

Bennett was taken into surgery but both he and Mcduffy wounds are considered non life threatening.

Bennett faces one count of Attempted 1st Degree Homicide.
