Meth Lab discovered, 2 arrested
Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator and Shreveport Chief of Police Henry Whitehorn announced the discovery of a meth lab in Keithville this afternoon.
Caddo Sheriff's investigators were at the home located at 3687 Bledsoe Road conducting follow-up investigation of a robbery of an individual case. While there, the female robbery victim and the alleged robber arrived at the house together. During the investigation, the sheriff's detectives located items on the side of the house known to be used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. The detectives called the Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Task Force out to inspect.
After securing a search warrant, narcotics agents located numerous items used to make meth, both inside the home and inside the home owner's car. Items found include jars of an unknown liquid substance and hazardous, combustible chemicals that were so strong that the fire department had to be called to air out the house.
The home owner -- who was also the victim of the robbery -- 55-year-old Kathy Pilcher was arrested and charged with possessing items to manufacture methamphetamine. Meanwhile, the person she was with -- 37-year-old Phillip Verderaine of Shreveport -- was arrested and charged with armed robbery. Both were booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
The investigation continues and more arrests are suspected.
