Two people are in the hospital this morning after a two vehicle wreck closed the I-220 eastbound traffic going over the Red River last night.
The accident happened shortly before 10:00 PM when a Ford F-150 truck was traveling east in the outside lanes of I-220. The truck's driver side front tire blew out forcing it into the inner lanes of traffic.
That's when the truck collided with a Honda Accent forcing it into the guard rail several times before both vehicles finally came to a rest with the Accent resting on the passengers side .leaning against the guard rail.
The driver of the Accent had to be cut out of her car. She was taken to Willis Knighton North in stable non-life threatening condition.
The passenger of the Ford F-150, an elderly female was taken to Willis Knighten Pierremont in stable non-life threatening condition. Her husband was transported with her but was uninjured.
Both lanes of traffic were re-opened less than an hour later. No charges have been issued.
