Accident turns fatal

Shreveport Police are investigating an accident in the 600 block of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop that occurred about 2:15 p.m.

An 86-year-old woman had just dropped off her pet at the Southern Hills Animal Hospital and was pulling onto Bert Kouns when she pulled out in front of a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old female.

The 86-year-old woman was taken to LSU where she died. Meanwhile, the 30-year-old woman was taken to Willis-Knighton South with non life-threatening injuries.

It is unknown for sure at this time, but the elderly woman may have suffered a medical condition just prior to the accident.
