Chief Whitehorn to speak at DARE graduation

Chief Henry Whitehorn will speak to elementary school students on Tuesday and Wednesday at 1 p.m.

The talks will be at the DARE graduations for Pine Grove Elementary School (on Tuesday) and for Newton Smith Elementary School (on Wednesday).

DARE stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education and is taught by Shreveport Police officers in local elementary schools.

This year's speeches will be especially important, since several children have been killed in violent crimes this year.
