Mayor Cedric Glover has added 11 new members to the Shreveport Mayor’s Women’s Commission, raising to 26 the number of women sworn to serve on this group. | The commission was established in 1984 and continues to actively work to identify the needs of Shreveport women and youth, and provide innovative methods to address how those needs can best be met. | In the coming year, the group will pursue projects focused on education, advocacy and quality of life issues. The commission also is planning the Cora M. Allen Day on March 7, a community celebration that will honor the heritage of female leadership in Shreveport. | The newest members of the Women’s Commission are: |
