Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover is opening the doors of City government to college students this summer in a unique program. | “I want to give the up and coming young professionals of our City a once in a lifetime opportunity, to experience first hand, the day to day operations of Shreveport’s leading governmental body”, says Glover. | The Mayor’s Summer Internship Program is a highly competitive Internship program geared towards undergraduate and graduate students. MISP will offer students the opportunity to serve as summer interns to various City departments. The program will run May 29th – June 29th, 2007 for a total of five (5) weeks. This is a paid internship, requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week, 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Students will be required to submit weekly reports documenting their progress and goals. | QUALIFICATIONS: | Applicants must be an undergraduate or graduate level student. | A background in one of more of the following areas is desired: public administration, economics, human resources, finance, communications, law, public policy, health and human performance, business, management, social services and energy management..
