Shreveport Mayor Cedric B. Glover invites the public to witness the swearing-in of Henry L. Whitehorn as the City’s new police chief. The ceremony will be Wednesday August 1, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Shreveport’s Riverview Theatre.

“I listened to the community about the kind of person citizens wanted in a police chief. I selected the best qualified for the job and now it’s time for all of the stakeholders , to join hands and hearts and begin a partnership with Chief Whitehorn and SPD”.

At 9:00 AM on August 1, 2007 in the lobby of Riverview Theatre, a public reception will give well-wishers a chance to meet and talk with Whitehorn one-on-one.

To assist with parking, members of SPD and auxiliary officers will use golf carts to transport people from their cars to Riverview Theatre.

Parking at the adjacent Sci-Port Discovery Center will be open to those attending the ceremony.
