Shreveport Mayor Cedric B. Glover has challenged the City’s Department of Community Development to paint the homes of 100 residents in this year’s Paint Your Heart Out program.

Last year with the help of sponsors and hundreds of volunteers, Paint Your Heart Out painted the homes of 69 residents that qualified for the program.

One of those residents, Mrs. Mary Johns who lives at 2207 Corbitt Street will join Mayor Glover and Paint Your Heart Out organizers at a 1:30 PM news conference to encourage senior citizens throughout the City to apply for the free paint job that gave her home and her neighborhood a new look.

“Every year we do a great job, but this year the challenge is to do more as we continue to improve our neighborhoods and the quality of life for the citizens of Shreveport” says Mayor Glover.
