	October 29, 2009 - CADDO DISTRICT JUDGE RULES ON CITY’S APPEAL
	Caddo District Judge Scott Crichton today granted the City of Shreveport’s request for a preliminary injunction in the City’s appeal of the October 15, 2009 decision of the Personnel Board.
	On October 19, 2009 the City filed a Petition for Injunctive Relief and for Review and Nullity of the Personnel Board decision. The request for injunctive relief was based upon a violation of the Louisiana Open Meetings Law.
	Judge Crichton found that the Personnel Board committed a “flagrant” violation of the Open Meetings Law by going into executive session to deliberate on the appeals and ruled that the decision of the Personnel Board is void in accordance with the law.
	Judge Crichton’s decision voids the Personnel Board’s decision to overturn the termination. The employees Community Development city housing inspectors Jackie Mandigo, Ray Jones and Daniel LaCour are still terminated. They are not on leave.
