2019 Summer Camp Overview

The Boy’s Enrichment Camp is an annual camp that strives to promote unity and self-confidence to male participants ages 6 to 16. This camp places special emphasis on being respectful and providing life skills on being and becoming productive citizens in the community. The camp will instruct and attempt to teach young males about conflict resolution and how to address and cope with the changing demands of an ever-changing society. There will be speakers present who will talk on personal life changing experiences and how those experiences helped to enhance their lives. Community Liaison Officers will serve as camp instructors. The Annual Community Oriented Policing Bureau Youth Fishing Camp offers fun, hands-on educational activities that encourage boys and girls--between the ages of 6 to 13 years old -- to gain an improved positive attitude, greater appreciation for good moral values, and a better understanding of the keys that will lead to their own success. This active outdoor program promotes nature awareness, teach them to fish or improve their current fishing skills. Officers and Wildlife staff work together to educate the children on fish habits, water quality, and conservation. Please click on the link below for an application.

Event: Cops and Campers
Time: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Location: Shreveport Police Training Academy, 6440 Greenwood Road
This one day camp introduces students between the ages of 9-16 into career fields for police and fire first responders. Each camper will find out what it takes to be a police officer or fire fighter, experience some of the same things that officers and firemen do during their career, and watch exciting demonstrations. Training experts will instruct students regarding their respective fields. Student participation will promote positive relationships between youth and police through educational, recreational and positive interactions in order to promote a stronger community. The Shreveport Police and SPAR will be partnering with the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) for the annual basketball camp. The instructional time spent with the young will teach the team fundamental skills of the game and character development.
