Public Notice: Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Shreveport shall hold its Administrative Conference and Regular Meeting on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. The combined meeting will be held via video/telephone conference.

In accordance with R.S. 42:17.1 this notice shall serve as certification of the Shreveport City Council’s inability to otherwise operate in accordance with the Louisiana Open Meetings Law due to such a meeting being detrimental to the health, safety, and/or welfare of the public as a result of the public health emergency, as declared by Governor John Bel Edwards on August 3, 2021, Proclamation Number 136 JBE 2021.

The Shreveport City Council will provide for attendance at its essential government meeting on August 10, 2021 via video/telephone conference. It is essential that the Shreveport City Council continue to operate to address 1) matters directly related to its response to the disaster or emergency; 2) matters that if delayed will cause a curtailment of vital public services or severe economic dislocation and hardship; 3) matters that are critical to the continuation of its business and that are not able to be postponed due to legal requirements; and/or 4) other matters that presiding officer has determined are critical or time-sensitive.

Considering the foregoing, and in accordance with R.S. 42:17:1 and Proclamation Number 136 JBE 2021, the Shreveport City Council’s meeting on August 10, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. will be held via video/telephone conference and in a manner that will allow for observation and input by members of the public, as set forth below:

Citizens may address the Shreveport City Council via Zoom during the Public Comments section of this agenda. Citizens must submit a request to speak form by 2:00 P.M. on August 10, 2021, by visiting https://www.shreveportla.gov/FormCenter/ CityCouncil-Forms-30/Citizen-Request-to-Speak-135.
