•Thursday, February 5, at 11 AM, Bill Cockrell Community Center is hosting a Black History Program (4109 Pines Road). The guest speaker is SPAR’s own Mr. Reggie Hodge. For more information, contact Bill Cockrell Community Center at 318-629-4185.

•Thursday, February 12, at 11 AM, SPAR Therapeutic Recreation at Princess Park Community Center (931 Baker) is hosting their 2nd Annual Black History Program. The guest speaker for the event is Ms. Lueburda Myers. For more information, contact SPAR Therapeutic Recreation at 318-673-7815.

•Thursday, February 19, at 10 AM, A. B. Palmer Community Center (547 E. 79th) is hosting a Black History Program – Celebrating African American History. The guest speaker is Ms. Leonez Carter. For more information, contact A. B. Palmer Community Center at 318-673-5336.

•Wednesday, February 18, at 10:00 AM, Hollywood Heights Community Center (4815 McDaniel Street) is hosting a Black History Program. Ms. Lindora Baker will be the guest speaker. For more information, contact Hollywood Heights Community Center at 318-673-7811.

•Wednesday, February 25, at 4 PM, Andrew Currie Community Center (1600 Norma Street) is hosting a Black History Program. The guest speaker is Ms. Sandra Lister. For more information, contact Andrew Currie Community Center at 318-673-7805.

•Thursday, February 26, at 10:30 AM, Chris Hays Community Center (4300 Illinois) is hosting a Black History Program entitled “A Century of Black Life, History and Culture”. The event will feature Jewellean Nelson, a Selma March participant and native of Alabama. Mrs. Nelson will share her accounts of living in Alabama and knowing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. personally.
