[ARCHIVED] SPAR Announces PGA Junior League Golf

SPAR is pleased to announce their formation of PGA Junior League Golf Teams for the spring 2015 season.

PGA Junior League Golf is the Professional Golf Associations new program to involve boys and girls, 8 to 13, in the game of golf. PGA Junior League Golf (PGA JLG) is designed to give youth an experience similar to “Little League,” in a team versus team competition. PGA JLG is designed to better socialize the game of golf for youth via structured leagues that provide a less stressful format as opposed to stroke-play competition. The emphasis on the PGA Junior League Golf is on the fun, recreation and sportsmanship of the game for players at any skill level.

“PGA Junior League is a great and exciting way to bring kids into the game of golf. The relaxed format is great for all levels of players,” said Pete Lockwood, PGA golf pro at Querbes.

SPAR’s PGA Junior League Golf teams are forming now. Practice begins in April at both Querbes and Huntington. The season will consist of 5 to 6 regular season competitions are various courses in Shreveport and Bossier. The League also includes coaching and practice sessions. There is a $200 per child cost to participate. For more information on SPAR’s PGA Junior League Golf teams, please contact Pete Lockwood (318-673-7735) or Reg Adams (318-673-7765).
