Information Technology Department
Under the direction of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Shocker Creal, and Deputy Director, Gwendolyn Kimble, the Information Technology (IT) Department of the City of Shreveport is dedicated to providing innovative and efficient technology solutions that enhance the operations of all city departments and improve the quality of services delivered to our community. Our mission is to support the city’s goals by leveraging technology to increase productivity, streamline processes, and ensure the security and reliability of our IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network and Infrastructure Management: We design, implement, and maintain a robust and secure network infrastructure that supports the city’s communication and data needs.
- Technical Support: Our team provides comprehensive technical support to all city departments, ensuring that employees have the tools and resources they need to perform their duties effectively.
- Application Implementation & Maintenance: We oversee the deployment of and maintain software applications that meet the unique needs of various city departments, enhancing efficiency and service delivery. While we’ve pivoted away from in house custom software development, we work directly with vendors to ensure implemented solutions meet the needs of city departments.
- Cybersecurity: The IT Department is committed to protecting the city’s digital assets and safeguarding sensitive information.
- Data Management and Analytics: We manage the city’s data resources, ensuring data integrity and accessibility while providing analytical insights to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
- IT Project Management: Our department oversees IT projects from inception to completion, in an effort to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with the city’s objectives.
The City of Shreveport’s IT Department is here to support you and ensure that our city’s technology infrastructure remains strong, secure, and efficient.
