Metropolitan Planning Commission

The Shreveport/Caddo Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) was established in 1954 as an organization separate from but funded by the City of Shreveport and the Parish of Caddo to provide all planning and zoning services within the metropolitan planning area.  This area includes all of Shreveport and up to five miles outside of the city limits into Caddo Parish.

The MPC staff reports to the MPC Board which is appointed by the City of Shreveport Council and the Caddo Parish Commission.  The staff provides a variety of services to the public from zoning enforcement to current planning, such as providing application assistance, to long-range planning, such as neighborhood planning efforts and amendments to the City and Parish codes of ordinances.  More information about current planning and long-range planning be seen by clicking on the appropriate tab at the top of this page.

Our office is located in Government Plaza, 505 Travis Street, Suite 440, and is open Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
