Peer Review

Government Auditing standards require the Internal Audit Office (IAO) undergo an external peer review every three years. The purpose of this review is to determine whether the IAO has established an internal quality control system that is suitably designed and effectively operating to provide reasonable assurance of compliance with the standards. An independent peer review team assigned by the Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA) found the IAO passed the peer review and has conducted its work in full compliance with government auditing standards. The peer reviewers also issued a report identifying what the IAO is doing right and what can be improved.
