The City Attorney's Office provides legal advice to the mayor, City Council, and all officers, departments, commissions, boards, and agencies of the City of Shreveport.
This office:
Prepares and/or reviews all legislation presented to the City Council
Handles all legal instruments to which the city is a party or has an interest in and represents the city in all litigation, including the prosecution of ordinance violations, traffic citations, and charges for DWIs in city courts.
Is comprised of 10 full-time and part-time attorneys, and six support staff with most litigation being handled by part-time attorneys.
