Louisiana Department of Economic Development International Trade Division utilizes trade shows, contacts with an extensive international network, and databases to identify trade opportunities for local businesses. They also assist firms in finding foreign distributors, representatives, licensees, or joint venture partners / sources.
On top of that, they also focus on helping Louisiana companies access federal export loan assistance programs locally in conjunction with the Louisiana Economic Development Corporation program. University of New Orleans International Trade Center offers assistance to exporters and importers and conducts seminars targeted toward small companies and individuals interested in international trade. The center also provides legal counseling and banking and finance counseling in International matters. The center also offers country guides, market research, and referrals.
