Solid Waste Permits

All commercial and private haulers and governmental vehicles must obtain a Solid Waste Permit from the City of Shreveport before they are permitted to dump solid waste at the city landfill.

Commercial Haulers

All commercial haulers only must obtain a transporter number. Transporter numbers may be obtained from the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ).

To apply for the state transporter number, contact the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality at (225) 219-3079.

For all commercial haulers, the solid waste permit cost is $250 for the permit sticker and $1,000 for the annual fee. Mail with payment or deliver the application in person to:

Waste Information

Waste delivered to the landfill must be accompanied by a trip ticket which indicates the:
  • Generator / hauler ID number
  • Type of waste hauled
  • Waste ID number
All incoming waste will be weighed at the scale house, and the type and quantity of waste is recorded. The records are maintained at the facility and correlate to the disposal cell location. The landfill is operated under a permit issued by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality.
