Collections
The Solid Waste Division is responsible for the collection of garbage and trash from residences in Shreveport and Bossier city. Most of the collection in Shreveport occurs curbside, although a small percentage of households pay a quarterly fee for back-door collection.

Landfill
The city owns the Woolworth Road Landfill located at:
10580 Woolworth Road
Keithville, LA 71047

The facility is operated by the City of Shreveport, however the maintenance of the facility is handled by a contractor. The city assures that the landfill meets all state and federal environmental requirements.

Recycling
For information on the city's recycling program, please visit the Just Curb It website or find out more information from Pratt Industries website. You can find out more information on the recycling programs offered by Caddo Parish Commission and Bossier City in the Environmental Services section.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection
The Solid Waste Division, in cooperation with BFI and Shreveport Green, sponsors an annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection event usually in September. On this day residents are encouraged to bring all of their toxic waste to the collection site for proper disposal.

Waste accepted, but not limited to, include paint, pesticides, herbicides, used motor oil, and other common household hazardous materials. We also accept old car batteries and used tires. The event is usually held at the State Fairgrounds.
