Shreveport Firefighters Battle Vacant Commercial Building Fire

The Shreveport Fire Department was dispatched at 8:55 AM to the 3600 block of Claiborne Ave. for a reported commercial building on fire. Truck 8 was the first unit on scene at 8:59 AM and reported a fully involved commercial fire with flames extending from the front and rear of the structure.

Firefighters on scene determined the structure to be vacant and the incident commander ordered a defensive fire attack due the fire conditions within the structure. There were no utilities connected to the building at the time of the fire. The situation was brought under control at 9:29 AM with 12 – Fire Units and 34 – Firefighters battling the blaze.
There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigations by the Shreveport Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau.
