Repairs Underway at City Water Pump Station

The Department of Water and Sewerage is conducting repairs to its water pumping station located at 68th Street and Union Street.  Earlier today, a failure occurred that caused flooding of the pump and electrical room.  Crews are evaluating the cause of that failure and working with contractors to make the appropriate repairs.  This process may take up to two to three days.  Neighborhoods in the central part of the city may experience lower than normal water pressures.  Additional devices will be place in the system to monitor water pressure.  Anyone experiencing extremely low water pressure or no water should call the 24- hour dispatch line at 318-673-7600.
