Mayor Tyler to share next phase of Litter Abatement Initiative
Mayor Ollie Tyler will share the next phase of the Litter Abatement and Beautification Initiative and showcase new equipment that will be used to keep Shreveport Clean.
A press conference will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in front of Government Plaza, 505 Travis St.
On display will be new city street sweepers, knuckle boom trucks, and litter signs.
Partners of this initiative, including Shreveport Green, local businesses, law enforcement and governmental agencies will be in attendance to show their support of this effort and strict enforcement of litter ordinances.
“This initiative is very dear to my heart because I am appalled by the trash I see as I travel through our city,” said Mayor Ollie Tyler. “We are better than this and it is time we take pride in our hometown. It’s time we clean up our streets and beautify Shreveport.”
Businesses and organizations have already committed to the Litter Abatement and Beautification Initiative. Several groups have been out on clean-up days carrying out the motto: Don’t be Trashy. Keep it Classy. Shreveport is Home!
