Shreveport Police Violent Crimes investigators are searching for a woman believed responsible for shooting her husband back in late July.
On July 27, 2017, just before 12:00 pm, Shreveport Police Patrol officers responded to Willis Knighton Hospital at 2600 Greenwood Road on reports of a male arriving in the emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen. The victim, Shelby Chapple, 25, of the 4300 block of Hermosa Drive was uncooperative. Chapple was transported to the hospital by his wife, Mary Chapple, 39, also of the 4300 block of Hermosa Drive. Mary Chapple told investigators that her husband left the house and returned 20 minutes later with a gun shot injury. She advised investigators that the incident happened somewhere on Monkhouse Drive but she had no further information.
Investigators with the Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit immediately launched an investigation into the matter. Through the course of their investigation, investigators developed information that helped them identify Mary Chapple as the alleged suspect. Investigators procured a warrant for Mary Chapple charging her with one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder. Her bond was set at $150,000.00.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to Mary Chapple’s arrest. Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 or visit the organization’s website at Lockemup.org.
